PPN Implementation Roadmap - Survey
|
Carlow PPN want to hear your feedback! An independent comprehensive review of the Public Participation Networks was commissioned by the Dept. of Rural and Community Development (DRCD) in 2021, to ensure that Public Participation Networks are fit for purpose for climate action and community development. The review recommended a number of actions and a Working Group was created to consider these recommendations. The group has developed a draft Implementation Roadmap drawing on the recommendations as well as actions suggested by members of the PPN community. The overarching purpose of the Roadmap is to implement changes to PPN structures to enable them to work more effectively. You are invited to read the Draft PPN Implementation Roadmap and take part in a Survey which can be accessed here. The survey is open for response until Friday 1st September 2023

Moylisha Hill in Co. Wicklow provides a rich habitat for naturally occurring flora and fauna, including rare and endangered varieties. The group 'Protect Myshall Hill' are a mix of farmers, teachers, publicans, mothers, fathers and neighbours. Their mission is to conserve the natural and historical environment of Moylisha Hill and their aim is to promote a wider appreciation of the beauty and heritage in the Wicklow Mountains.
Moylisha Hill holds many records from the past, including a late Stone Age Wedge Tomb (c. 2500-2000 BC) and 19th century stone houses. Not only are these part of our heritage, they have earned the classification of National Monuments.
Moylisha Hill is home to numerous walking and equestrian trails and is part of The Wicklow Way, along with holding prominence as the first way-marked trail in Ireland.
By its remoteness, beauty and rich heritage, this territory offers unique opportunities to us and to future generations.
This area is many things to many people - work, recreation and inspiration - Protect Moylisha Hill!

National Action Plan Against Racism (NAPAR) 2023-2027
|
The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth have published a National Action Plan Against Racism (NAPAR) 2023-2027, that proposes actions to help make Ireland a place where the impacts of racism are acknowledged and actively addressed.
Carlow’s Intercultural Charter share many of the same objectives as the NAPAR. Carlow PPN have endorsed the Carlow’s Intercultural Charter.
As with the Carlow Strategy, there is attention given to ‘Implementation, Delivery, Monitoring and Review’. Any progress will require proactive approaches in making the charter a reality.
